My Students

The students in my class are full of energy, excitement to learn, and enthusiasm. They come from widely diverse cultures and speak various languages, and many of their families are struggling economically. Many of our classmates bring their unique special needs into our classroom community, and we all work together to be successful well-rounded kindergartners.

They are a community of learners where everyone is a valued self-manager and has a voice.

Everyone is respected and welcomed. Our school is in the state of Washington. It is culturally diverse with 80% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. Over 50% of our students are English language learners.

My Project

Many of my students come from challenged households and struggle to get their basic needs met. Having a variety of snacks on hand will provides my students with a resource they can rely on.

All students should be able to attend school and focus on being successful young learners rather than on their grumbling bellies or where their next food will come from.

These snacks will provide both my kindergarten classroom and a large number of children in our school with the ability to fuel their bodies and minds. It is my job as a teacher to ensure that students grow into well-rounded individuals, and nourishment is a crucial factor.
