Huh? I Can't Hear You!

Help me give my students headphones for our computers so we can focus better. Learning on a computer in the 2nd grade is difficult when you can't focus on your own computer because the classroom is too noisy.

My Students

Our students speak over 30 different languages, they come from many different backgrounds. One thing they all have in common is their love of learning. The 2nd graders I teach come to school eager to learn to read and write.

Some students are learning to speak, read and write their second language, while others are learning to read and write the language they already speak.

All of the students love to help each other learn along the way. We use our computers for much of our learning and our elearning days.

My Project

We work on math, reading, and writing on our computers. It can be very hectic when we are all working on different assignments and not enough students have working headphones. Some students are able to bring headphones from home or their parents have bought some for them to use at school. But others are not so lucky.

It becomes really hard to focus on your own learning when all you can hear is other student's computers.

Our learning websites have engaging sounds, give us directions, and read to us. We can focus so much better when we all have headphones and can only hear our own computer. It also helps our teacher to be able to work with groups when our computers are quiet!
