Since I teach with the Guided Reading principles, we use the Tactile Letter Kit to reinforce the letter/sound relationship. We also work on building words daily with the Classroom Magnetic letters kit, as the year goes on, we learn to change sounds and build with letter patterns. These are activities we learn with every day, and from time to time need to replace the items that wear out. These items will especially help our English Language Learners and our struggling learners. They benefit from using their hands and the sense of touch with the Tactile Letters and the Build the Letter Kit. When they see themselves as readers and writers, the whole world begins to open for them.
