Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
After struggling through Hurricane Harvey, the students of Aransas Pass, TX. were devistated with their losses, both in school and at home. They are wonderful students who have learned that if they work together to accomplish a task, no matter how big or small, they can succeed together. Students can constantly be seen helping others both in class and during the time at their lockers. A bond has been formed to unite my students in long lasting ways.
My students have faced the worst of conditions at such a young age, that most of them have sought refuge in their time at school.
They have found comfort in the reality that all in their community have experienced losses in a variety of ways and they have each other to share their memories and hardships with. I am excited to work with my students this year as they find peace and comfort within my classroom.
My Project
My students need 8 more Amazon Fire 7 Tablets with Alexa to be able to work in group rotations! We are excited to use our technology within the comfort of the classroom! Many of my students do not have access to tablets or technology for that matter, at home. Incorporating, technology within my room will allow my students to work independently and comfortably while they learn.
Continuing to learn through the rebuilding process left behind by Hurricane Harvey has been especially difficult for my students at home.
I am constantly encouraging students to show various examples of responsibility! In supplying SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC, eTopxizu Tablet Cases, Fire 7 Screen Protector,Tempered Glass Screen Protectors, and Panasonic Over-the-Ear Stereo Headphones I am able to hold students to a higher level of responsibility and a wide variety of learning methods. In addition, to the protective cases, the cleaning products will ensure the long lasting investment of the tablets and headphones for years to come! The wireless mice will be beneficial with our class set of chromebooks. A few of my students struggle with the coordination required of a touchpad, having the mice will greatly increase their productivity speed.
