My Students

I am the head boys' basketball and head boys and girls track and field coach in a culturally diverse, rural high school. We try to do the best with what we have but our funding is limited and there is little money allotted for any extras.

We need specific equipment aimed at increasing the abilities of our student-athletes that can help build confidence and improve the skills needed to help them be successful and excel in their chosen sports.

The talent and ability are there, we just need to be able to strengthen their skills.

My Project

As head girls' track coach, I try to present opportunities to our athletes to help them succeed. We are trying to build our girls' track program so we can compete at the district and state levels. We have a new track but there are still a few things we need to make it more easier to train and hold regional, district and hopefully state track meets.

Measuring the height of a pole vault crossbar is a pretty tricky experience.

Basically you are just guessing with a manual vertical measuring device. We definitely do not have anyone tall enough to hold the top measure! This laser measuring stick will allow us to measure pole vault and high jump crossbars quickly and accurately. It will allow us to spend more time training and less time standing around waiting to move to the next mark.

This project will provide the equipment we need to perform our best during practice and during matches, and give our student-athletes the training they need to bring home a state championship and possibly move on to the next level. It will also allow us to host meets which gives our athletes the confidence gained from home-field advantages. This project will benefit the current teams plus the upcoming teams as the equipment can be used for multiple years. Thank you for your support!
