How Does My Body Work??

Help me give my students visual reference guides and supplies necessary to understand the human body. The Carson MicroBrite Plus 60x-120x Power LED Lighted Pocket Microscopes will enable me to make science come alive for my students.

My Project

My students learn about the human body systems in 5th grade. Since most of what they learn is inside our bodies, these supplies can help my students see their insides! This enables them to better understand the human body systems and our genetics.

The Carson MicroBrite Plus 60x-120x Power LED Lighted Pocket Microscope and the prepared slide will allow students to take a closer look at human body tissue and muscles, as well as plant and animal cells.

The reference books and posters will provide a tremendous visual image of our actual body systems and how they relate to each other inside our bodies, helping us breathe, move, and grow. The human body skeleton will be a great asset to my students because they will be able to see the actual bones they have inside them.

My students are what we call "COVID babies". These students have been the most affected by the "homeschooling" that occurred during the beginning of the pandemic. They were in Kindergarten when the public schools shut down. These students missed out on so much foundational learning for reading and math that most of them are still at least one grade level behind in reading and math. They work hard to make up that difference but it's hard. They must have hands-on supplies as much as possible in math and science to help them understand ideas and learn important skills necessary to succeed in life.

My goals for this project are to increase student interest and enjoyment in learning again. Science and math are areas where so many of my students can thrive if given the right support and supplies. Please help make this possible for my students!
