This project will help support the social-emotional needs of the Early Childhood students and 4K students at my school and community sites. The A Little SPOT series of books was developed to help children learn about the various feelings and emotions we all encounter every day. Once children can identify their emotions, they can learn how to manage them in a healthy way.
With these tools, students will have hands-on activities that will help students develop and identify their emotions and the emotions of others in a healthy manner.
The stories will be used during lessons that focus on a specific emotion. Students will be able to use the emotion coins to choose how they are feeling or show what emotion they would like to learn about. The sensory toys will be used to help students calm their bodies when they are having difficulty regulating their own emotions. When students are calm it is easier for them to learn how to control their emotions.
