How Dense Is It?

My students need density measuring materials such as graduated cylinders, density blocks, and density cylinders to gain a better understanding of how to make precise measurements and calculate density.

My Students

"A person who never made a mistake, never tried anything new," Albert Einstein. My students need to learn how to measure using volume, mass, and density.

My students come from rural Arizona, our district is 1500 sq miles.

Many of my students travel 1-2 hours a day to get to and from school. My students often do not get off the bus until 7:00 to 8:00 pm. They are mainly low income students. My students want to learn, but they learn better by doing not by completing worksheets and reading or by lecture.

My Project

The resources I am asking for, graduated cylinders, density blocks, and density cylinders, will give my students a hands on approach to learning about mass, volume, and density. My students need hands on material, so that they may see and do science. My students do better when they have hands on material to take science class to the next level of learning.

If you fund my project you will be helping open the minds of students who need help understanding how science correlates to the world around them.

The more they understand about the world around them the farther they will go in life.
