Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Eager to learn is a great way to describe my students. My students attend a 100 percent Title I school located in one of the poorest zip codes in our city. All of my students and every other student that attends our school qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Our school is a prime learning haven because it is surrounded by many historical landmarks and the area itself is slowly being revived. This makes our school special and thus makes my students special because they are right in the heart of this awesome learning circle!

My Project

Having a water testing kit will help my students get to experience what real scientists actually do when they are testing water. By actually using a water testing kit, my students will grasp the concept better. The laptop and the mouse will allow them to do research on water testing and what is considered acceptable water purity levels. They will also use the laptop and mouse to present their findings to the class.

Having the right tools, equipment and technology will allow my students to get the full experience of what environmental scientists do.

This experience just might encourage them to seek careers in science. They will learn about the importance and the dangers of clean water versus unclean water.
