Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergarten is where learning and fun happens. In kindergarten students are building the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Students learn foundational skills for reading and by the end of the year, they have picked up this skill and are reading. In math, students are setting the foundation to become proficient math students. There is so much learning and growth in kindergarten, it is a pleasure to be a part of this developmental growth.

My school is an ethnically diverse school with students from all over our community.

Many of my students come from very low socioeconomic backgrounds.

My Project

Through the use of the interactive Dot Pens, my students will work towards building up their foundational skills during small group and interventions as we work towards their letters, sounds, and then simple words. Once my students have mastered these skills, I will have the ability to continue with them and help them master their skills as we work together reading the Bob Book Sets.

With the supplies purchased, the students will read the books independently and together, thus building their confidence as well as meaningful relationships within the classroom community.
