This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are working so incredibly hard to achieve their reading goals by the end of the school year, and they have a thirst to grow as learners and help those around them. Cold treats like organic frozen pops and organic gelato pops are sweet incentives for my scholars. A mini ice machine will be used to keep water at a refreshing temperature, cool off on humid days, and make cool packs for safety concerns.
A bumble bee doesn't know that it shouldn't be able to fly, so it goes on flying anyway.
We have placed our focus on GROWTH in ourselves and those around us no matter how big or small. Each student has spelling and word recognition benchmarks to hit based on where they are. We celebrate every achievement. Every time a student hits a benchmark, we celebrate together.
Attending a STEM/STEAM school that incorporates performing arts, visual arts, coding, computer science (CS), financial literacy, and social-emotional learning (SEL) gives our students the chance to explore who they are. Our urban school receives federal funding for programs that provide free breakfast/lunch for every student, and Title I services to economically disadvantaged boys and girls. Our inclusive class serves military families, gifted/talented students, ESL/ELL students, special education students, and tech-savvy students.
