Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have an amazing group of hard working 5th graders who want to learn. My students have been working very hard this school year to learn and show growth in their assessments. We are now in the second semester of the school year and students are focusing more than ever. They are nervous but excited about middle school and understand that they need to show a lot of growth in their state test in order to get all their fun electives in 6th grade. However, my students are in need of headphones for their online programs.

My students need headphones so that they can independently work on their online programs and listen to the lessons.

Many of my students come from low-income families who struggle to get quality headphones that will last all school year. We have gone through 20 class set headphones and many families are unable to provide additional ones. My students really need these headphones because they are unable to focus when all they hear is multiple laptops with their sounds on. With these headphones, my students will be able to listen to their lessons and take their mini assessments while I work with others in small group.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
