My Project

My 4/5th grade students are part of a public charter school that values engaged learners through inquiry. The materials requested will help my students learn about people and events in United States history that are often not explored, such as looking the perspective of Native Americans, enslaved people, and those that fought to end injustice.

Our goal to look at monuments that were created to remember and honor some aspect of U.S.

history, and then, re-examine the goal of monuments. We will decide who has been ignored, marginalized, and pushed aside in our collective history and create monuments for those people, events, or movements.
