My Students

My 4th grade students are an amazing, creative and energetic group of individuals. They all come to school excited to experience success and want to be ready to learn. They work together to create a classroom environment that is inclusive and safe for everyone.

They are passionate about protecting our earth, making a difference, and enjoy learning new skills.

My 4th graders face many challenges. Our school has over 60% of the students receiving a free and reduced-priced lunch. They work really hard and are eager to learn.

My Project

Living in Oregon, there are many times when my creative 4th graders are stuck inside the classroom due to rain. They love playing games and challenging themselves. I would love to stock my classroom with imaginative, challenging, and fun STEM activities to keep them entertained. STEM building games, puzzles, electronic circuit board puzzles, and other games would help kids move their bodies and entertain them during indoor recess. My class struggles with appropriate classroom behaviors when stuck indoors during recess. Recess is the time I have as a teacher to use the restroom, prep for the next lesson, meet with individual students, and collaborate with my fellow teachers. My students need activities that keep them busy and help them move around. New and exciting games would allow me to leave the room during this valuable prep time. It would also allow the recess supervisors to circulate more rather than deal with behaviors.

With the help of these STEM brain teaser games, kids will be able to play with their peers while challenge their brains at the same time.

Not only will my students be learning, it will also allow them to work together and socialize with their classmates. Playing an organized game also helps with classroom management. It gives them something to do, and leaves more opportunities to make good choices. With your help, indoor recess can be an exciting event in my classroom!
