My Students

Finding the right book fit and getting it in your students' hands is the biggest challenge in capturing the attention of young readers. The Nook will allow automatic access to current books at each students reading and interest level.

I have a group of high level readers in a wonderful public school district in Wisconsin.

It is really hard to stay current with their interests in reading. Once they have the reading bug it is likely to stay with them forever. When you ask my students 10 years from now, how they became such avid readers, I want them to say, " I was Hooked By A NOOK!"

My Project

By putting a Nook eReader into the hands of each of my students participating in the literature circle group, we will be able to choose a book that not only meets their reading level ability, but also meets their interest level. There are so many great authors and books to choose from but it is extremely difficult to get enough copies into the hands of each child in a literature circle group. Now once we get the book it can easily be read by all in the group. It will literally take seconds to download the book and start reading!!!!

Early reading experiences build the foundation for a lifelong love of reading.

Through this project I will undoubtedly be able to Hook 'em with a Nook! Using the technology available to us is essential in today's technological world. This is one way to close the gap on getting great books into every child's hand.
