My students come from diverse backgrounds, with baggage, and barriers that could stop them from coming to school. However, my students are eager to go to school, strive for their goals, and ready to learn and have fun!
In my classroom, the students are risk takers striving to develop problem solving skills.
We focus on using STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) curriculum so that students can apply their skills in the real world. The classroom community learns and grows together!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help the students learn about Black History. We are approaching February, the month that honors Black History. This is an opportunity for me as a teacher to incorporate important figures such as Ruby Bridges, MLK Jr., Malcom X, Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson, and so many more into lessons.
I want my students to be educated on important African American figures who are seen as heroes because of their dedication, commitment, and bravery.
If I am given the resources, I can fulfill this opportunity to incorporate these African American figures into our reading and writing curriculum.
