Homeworkopoly!

My students need pencils, pencil grips, handheld pencil sharpeners, highlighters, mini sticky notes, and bookmarks for the "Community Chest" in our Homeworkopoly game.

Pass go and collect $200! Well not this time but maybe some cool treasures! I teach all core subjects in a 3rd grade class. The community our school serves has a high level of poverty. Over 90% of our students qualify for free/reduced lunch.

Think back to how difficult it was for your parents to get you to sit down and complete your homework. Now imagine you came home to empty house with no supervision. Would your homework get done? Our students have little support or assistance at home. I do not hear excuses of "My dog ate my homework." They often attempt to complete their homework as they care for their younger brothers and sisters.

Our class will be playing Homeworkopoly to encourage students to complete homework assignments. I need motivational items to include in our 'community chest' for our homework game. Students will see that they can 'win' this game by turning in homework. The students need the extra practice at home and this will improve their work habits in an exciting way!

Your help will motivate my students to become hard-workers. They appreciate any incentive received.
