This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing and talented young children. They are second graders who have a wonderful thirst for knowledge and learning about the world outside of their community. These students come from a Title I school, meaning that they are in a low income home. My students deserve the fair chance that all other students get with materials and special school supplies. Donating to my students would be donating to help better their education for now as well as their future.
My Project
My students would like to lay all over our classroom floor to work each day on their math, science, and social studies projects. As much as I want them to feel at home in the classroom, at our school we have concrete flooring that makes this very difficult.
Pillows, light covers, and organizational bins will help my students feel like they have a safe and comfortable classroom to walk into each day.
Once we receive these materials, the students will have the ability to spread out around the room to work on and complete their daily tasks. I really think bright pillows, overhead light covers, and storage bins will help support this environment.
