I have a wonderful group of third graders that attend a large, urban, public school. 97% of the students in the school are low income and are eligible for either free or reduced lunch.
Despite the many challenges my students face on a daily basis, they have a strong desire to learn, grow, and be the best they can be.
I want my students to grow in all areas of their learning, and I want to provide them with a variety of workspaces in our room.
I strive to make my classroom feel at home for my students. I like to provide a calming environment where they have choice to move around and feel comfortable learning. I also want to provide a place my students enjoy coming back to each and every day.
I am requesting multiple flexible seating options that give my students the opportunity to choose a seat that helps them learn best.
Seats, beanbags, and pillows will provide additional options for my students to move around in different areas throughout the room. Students will be more focused and in return become excellent learners. I look forward to seeing this change in seating.
