My students are wonderfully creative and imaginative thinkers. They amaze me with their innovative ideas and creativity! They are energetic and eager to learn!
My students love to learn from one another, and they are very collaborative, cooperative learners.
We participate in many small group learning activities, and they are always respectful and thoughtful toward one another. We have a very diverse classroom which makes our learning community even more special. These students are smart, motivated to learn, and passionate second graders!
My Project
Recently, our school participated in the DiscoverU week, in which students learn about post-high school opportunities. One of the days was centered around the speaking world languages and bilingualism. I showed my students a couple of videos teaching them to count to 10 in other languages and their curiosity and excitement sparked there!
My students love spending some time each day practicing world language skills.
Currently, we are learning to count to 10 in Spanish, French, and Japanese! Once we master that, students have expressed interest in learning colors, days of the week, greetings, and more!
I created this project so that students can spend some time at the end of our school day learning basic Spanish. The materials in this project will allow students at different ability levels that opportunity. I have requested some Spanish/English books, audio to listen & learn with, games, and more. I hope that students can leave my class with some basic Spanish skills and the desire to learn other languages!
