Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach World History to English Language Learners that are new to the country. Visual Aids are especially important when learning a new language. I must balance teaching English language skills and teaching history content in my classes. The posters that I have selected will help English Language Learners tremendously. It will also contribute to a better atmosphere in my room and the hallway to see educational decor on display. The whiteboard is for keeping track of contest scores. Every two weeks I run a civics contest and the students can receive prizes. The additional whiteboard will provide the space needed to keep their scores on display.
In our school, we need to ensure that students' mental health is a top priority.
These materials will allow me to create a space for them that supports their social-emotional growth and development while ensuring their mental health needs are being met in class.
