My students need a LCD projector to view videos and images about important historical events as part of our quest to become engaged citizens.

My Students

The Lewis and Clark expedition, Westward Expansion, the American Civil War, jazz music, and Negro League Baseball all have Kansas City in common. Unfortunately, my students have yet to discover the rich history of their own neighborhood.

My students come from an urban area of Missouri to attend a school that is committed to creating leaders for the future.

The school itself is located in a neighborhood with a rich history filled with accomplishments by African Americans. They are active learners who have potential to accomplish anything they desire and will be expected to attend 4 year universities.

My Project

Having a projector will allow my students to learn in ways that they currently are not able to appreciate. Not only will students be able to see images of the historical places we are learning about, they will be able to utilize relevant videos and news clips to enhance their education of American and World history. Lastly, students will be able to utilize PowerPoint in their efforts to becoming effective speakers.

Generous support of this project will help my students think, write, and speak like engaged citizens.

Individually, students' future prospects will be benefited so they can compete with students of more affluent backgrounds.
