Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a low income, title one school. But that doesn't mean they lack the drive and dedication to their learning. In fact these students are the opposite of this. I have never met a more dedicated and passionate bunch. I truly have pride in my students and school and I think that they represent the best there is.
These students truly have a passion for learning and I want to support them however I can.
They are motivated, creative, passionate about social issues and have a love for learning.I want to support them however I can.
My Project
I want my students to embrace history and reading. I have a very diverse and multicultural student body and a lot of literature doesn't always embrace the diversity. I want to give my students an opportunity to love reading and history all at the same time and find stories they can relate to no matter their ethnicity.
I also always have students in my room at brunch lunch and after school.
I want them to find a place to feel comfortable and inviting and feel that they are welcome no matter who they are. By creating a reading nook, I will embrace the students that need to find a way to love learning in my class.
