High School Band Percussion Essentials

Help me give my students necessary percussion equipment to thrive in 2022 and beyond.

My Project

Our High School Percussion Program is a rapidly growing music ensemble hosted in Valdese, North Carolina. Due to the rapid growth, the percussion program is in need of the following items.

It is neither fun nor educational for almost half a section to be unable to play.

There are 4 sets of Crash Cymbals at our School but there will be 7 people in the 2022 Front Ensemble. Therefore, we are in need of 3 sets of Cymbals for performances.

Speaker Cables are needed to extend the reach of our speakers and to benefit the whole band's dynamics.

We are also in need of Vibes, Xylophone, and Glockenspiel mallets which are made of softer acrylic or yarn to balance better in the overall ensemble color.

Switching mallets are also a necessity, whether it be switching from a 4 Mallets to 2 Mallets, or just switching to a different texture, mount on mallet bags need to either be expanded or simply added.

The instruments are also in need of paracord to connect the bars together because on many instruments, it is about to break.

Mic holders for mallet instruments are needed to prevent the need for a Bungie cord and PCV pipe homemade solution, which captures a lot of background noise.

Finally, our show this year features songs with a heavily featured synthesizer part. We have had a household Electric Piano since the school's founding, which lacks necessary features such as split parts. We are in need of a new Synthesizer because of this, along with a Sustain Pedal.

As Percussion Captain and the Percussion Arranger for this year's show, I can assure you that these items would be of huge benefit to not just the Percussion section, but the performance of the whole ensemble as well.
