My Students

The students are craving the future. Our school is made up of the hardest working kids I have ever met. They are from all economic backgrounds and all ethnic groups.

The biggest and best thing we have in common is our sense of community at our school.

Students come in with a smile and a love of learning and growing all the time. I am so proud of my school and our family community and love to share and learn right along beside all of them.

My Project

Next year our grade level has decided it is time to amp up the learning with high quality read alouds in our classroom. We are asking for titles that fit in with Achieve the Core which designed high level lessons to accompany these books.

Our goal is to use these books to teach our students the reading skills they need to succeed in second grade and beyond.

The titles include Cinderella, The Great Kapok Tree, The Keeping Quilt, Frogs and Fireflies. This will give up a good blend of fiction and non fiction to cover. Since we will be using these as read alouds they will reach 80+ kids across many year. Thanks for considering our project.
