Our students are resilient kind-hearted kids all of whom are on Individualized Education Plans and qualify for special education. They challenge me to find new innovative ways to teach reading! My students are older elementary age who have a different reading, writing and math curriculum; and all of my students struggle with reading.
My students are authentic and welcoming to all who come into my classroom.
My Project
The materials in this project will help create an individualized enriching reading experience for our students. Our students are in upper elementary but read well below grade level. Most books that are on their decodable level are for younger students and the reading material is "kiddy".

My students are ready for longer chapter books, but the reading material needs to be on their academic level. The books in this project will greatly help to enrich my reading block by giving us decodable chapter books.
