This year, I will be an inclusion classroom for my grade level. This means that I will have students of all abilities in my room. I am very excited about the opportunity to work with students with limited English as well as those with reading disabilities. However, this opportunity requires that I am prepared for my student's academic needs. The most important thing to get prepared is to obtain high-interest, low-readability books for my students.
No one wants to look different than their peers!
This causes students to gather chapter books that their peers are reading - even if the book is too hard for them to read. Unfortunately, this causes students to become distracted because they aren't able to read the book. Therefore, I want to purchase books for students that are high-interest to my struggling readers. This will allow students the ability to read high-interest books on their reading level. Would you be so kind to help me support my students?
