Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Thank you for helping me build a classroom library. I teach English Language Arts and English Language Development to 9-12 graders at a Title I school. More than 80% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. These students have very little access to books and my hope as a teacher is that I am able to influence these wonderful people in the most positive way. The school is very diverse and many of my students are migrants and refugees.
Help me help my students.
I teach 12 grade English and hope to build a library of the world's great books. My plan for the library is to introduce my students to books they otherwise would not have interest or opportunity to engage with. I read with a deep, unquenchable passion and hope to inspire my students to do the same. I give books talks of the books and set up a system for lending the books. I also use the books for specific assignments at different times throughout the year.
