My students are awesome! They all come from diverse backgrounds, but they come ready to learn and soak up new experiences. Although our school is in a rural community, we have a diverse population of students. Many of our students are fairly new to our country and are just learning to speak English.
My classroom is a place where kids can come together to learn and have fun regardless of their differences or needs.
Throughout the school year, we work hard to improve academically, socially, and emotionally and we build relationships within the community.
High-interest books help to keep my students engaged. I am working on filling my classroom library with books that will keep my students reading. I love when a student asks for a specific book or a for the next book in the series. It helps me know what they are looking for and gives me the opportunity to recommend other books.
We are hoping to add some more requested books; Travel Team, Summer Ball, the Artemis Fowl 8-book collection, Long Way Down, Unstoppable, and Once.
