My Project
With the start of the school year, our students are fortunate to have access to iPads and laptops provided by the school district to access online resources. However, I noticed in previous years that as students use more and more of this technology, their interest and stamina in physical books continue to dwindle. With these devices, students have spent an extended amount of time reading books using apps and e-books, both in the classroom and at home.
While the abundance of choice on their reading apps is great, I want students to also practice the skill of reading physical books.
When tasked with reading physical books, many students are having a tough time staying engaged and focused for even a fraction of the same duration on their devices.
I asked students this pask week to brainstorm some books they were interested in reading. This project contains the students' wish list of books. Please help me foster a love of reading in my classroom by funding these books that my students are passionate about!
