My Students

Our Title I school is nestled in the midst of this community. My students live in a low-income community with minimal economic resources. The lack of basic necessities needed to prepare for life after high school is not in their favor.

My Project

My students have different needs when it comes to their disability concerns. One common area of concern is their fine and gross motor skills. Half of my students work with the Occupational Therapist to gain strength in these areas. Outside of therapy, objects and tangibles that they can manipulate in their hands will help in this endeavor. My students don't work with a curriculum that aids them through a diploma track high school graduation so fine and gross motor skills are a part of the training they receive while learning a trade in preparation for life after high school.
