Help me give my students an "Alphabet Treasure Chest" set and other versatile "hide and seek" toys to encourage communication.

My Project

This collection of toys contains new twists on some of my students' favorite types of materials. With lock and key toys, my students get to practice requesting ("I want...", "Open door"), describing ("purple box", "triangle door"), commenting and vocabulary ("I found a ___!"). They also work on fine motor skills and requesting help as they manipulate the keys, doors, and boxes.

To get my preschool speech/language students engaged, toys with hidden items and locks are "key"!

This project also contains other materials that can be used for stashing objects-- magnetic puzzles, an elastic covered box, and a garden mat that can be used to hide magnets, toys / mini items, flashcards, etc. With the versatile items listed in this project, I will be able to "hide" whatever things can best meet my students' communication goals.
