I chose to unpack the boxes during circle time to showcase the items. It was a great teachable moment to explain that kind people that we do not know care about us and made donations so we could get these awesome materials. My students were so excited to see everything. The first thing we did was put some of the manilla paper at our painting easel and art center.\r\n\r\nTo utilize the expo markers, we play musical letters. I place dry erase boards out around the classroom tables. Music is played and when the music stops, the students use the expo markers to write whatever letter they are closest to. The plastic trays are a great way to keep the scented Crayola Dough and Play-Doh slime contained to that area. I have the students use their imaginations to create things and strengthen their small muscles in their hands. I also use the Play-Doh to teach letters, shapes, and numbers. The Goldfish Crackers are a great snack and a way to teach counting.
