My Project

Students will use pocket microscopes to compare organic material from nature and take photographs of findings. Students will take a virtual field trip to the Denver Art Museum's Biophilia exhibit in May with the lesson.

Students will use microscopes to take close up photographs on natural materials so that they can create abstract art that highlights the transformative power of nature.

Students will use inquiry to guide them in their art making process. What is their role in climate change? What is their daily relationship with the environment they live in? How do contemporary artists integrate science and nature in art?
