My Students
My classroom is full of energetic, kind, and caring little ones. They are a diverse group of children representing over 10 countries with varying native languages.
We are curious about all subject matters and love to explore our world. Whether we are using technology to strengthen our math skills, diving into literature independently and with friends, or researching our favorite topic, students are constantly engaged in learning.
We want our classroom to be a safe place where students feel confident to take risks academically, socially, and emotionally. We are able to achieve this goal when students are equipped with the best essential supplies that every dynamic first-grade classroom deserves.
My Project
These new books will bring so much joy to our classroom! Each day I read aloud a new book to my first graders to: develop a love for reading, facilitate classroom discussion, create curiosity about our world and to model fluent reading.
The requested books were selected as they represent my students and have themes of: inclusion, friendship, acceptance, growth mindset, and celebrating diversity. My classroom book a day routine has been a BIG hit among the class. I look forward to sharing these titles with my new class of first graders. With your help, students will see themselves represented in books!
