Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my short time as an educator, I have had the honor of teaching wonderful students who love learning. My students come from a low-socioeconomic background and all of my students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Many of my students are English language learners. With many obstacles faced outside of the classroom this is where they are able to feel safe. They always come into my class ready to learn and greeted with a smile and firm hand shake.
My Project
I have very energetic students and they just love to learn. Asking questions about their learning is something I encourage all my students to do. However, sometimes I cannot get to all my students, being that there is only one of me in the classroom. I feel that my students would greatly benefit from having an Echo Dot in the classroom. A few ideas come to mind, students' can ask "Hey Alexa, how do you spell..?" "Hey Alexa who is Jackie Robinson?" "Hey Alexa, what does donated mean?"
The possibilities are endless with the extra "teacher" in the room.
I am also asking for a crayon sharpener to help get more use out of the crayons we get at the beginning of the year. Eggspert would be an excellent tool to use for my small group instruction. I believe that this tool will encourage all my students to try and answer questions during instruction. It is fun and educational for all!
