Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school which means we have a high percentage of low-income students. Our campus qualifies for 100% of the students receiving a free breakfast. My classroom consist of a very diverse group of students. Many families work multiple jobs to make ends meet because the value family and education.

In my class, students are actively learning.

We want students in school on a daily basis but in order to attend school everyday, students must be healthy. Our goal is to have disinfectant wipes and germ killing spray to help keep our environment clean.

My Project

A clean environment promotes effective learning. It’s hard to focus on academics when areas in the classroom are laced with germs. We share learning devices on a daily basis and having the necessary products to sanitize these shared items diminishes the likelihood of germs being passed on from one student to the next. According to a report by Jeffrey Campbell, Ph. D, “The level of cleanliness and hygiene in a building has a significant effect on the mind set of students.” Students need to be in a learning environment that promotes learning as well as cleanliness. Will you help us to eliminate germs and promote academics ?
