My Students

Like all students, our students have really struggled with motivation during the pandemic. This is especially true of content classes such as English. As a result, our failure rate has skyrocketed.

We know that motivation has a strong correlation to the feeling of ownership and this is really about giving students more ownership and choice in their education as we try to build new courses.

We are also in need of physical books since students have been struggling with screen fatigue.

My Project

During COVID-19, students have been struggling to feel motivated, especially since so much of their learning has been transferred to screen-time. We are looking to create new classes to give students more choice and more ownership rather than the required English 12.

Of course, one of the biggest struggles with moving to online learning is the lack of resources available.

We often push students toward random websites, all while cautioning students to pick reliable sources. And research has shown that students read a physical text more closely than text on the screen. So we are looking for mythology books for a new class to give students more choices, more resources, and more ownership.
