My Project
Funding for low readers in 1st grade is imperative to address a pressing educational challenge, prevent the widening of achievement gaps, promote social and emotional well-being, and unlock the full potential of all children. By investing in early literacy support, we can transform the trajectories of young learners and build a stronger, more inclusive educational system for the future. These reading materials will play a vital role in supporting low 1st-grade readers by providing differentiated instruction, phonics and decoding practice, scaffolded support, engagement and motivation, vocabulary and background knowledge development, and opportunities for reading fluency practice. By supporting these students, educators can empower struggling readers to become confident, proficient readers who are equipped for academic success.
