My Project

I am a special education teacher. My students and I work on coping strategies/calming tools and closing the achievement gaps. My students thrive using various calming techniques because what worked yesterday, may not work for them today. They are working hard on trying out various strategies to see what will benefit them the most during times of strong feelings. The swing will be used in the morning and afternoon in order to help with transitions to and from home. The strips and mini fidgets will be placed in their learning toolkits for them to have with them throughout the day in order to help them cope.

My students deserve the world.

The awards will be another way to show them how far they have come, will help celebrate their mini milestones and remind them that they can do it. Can you imagine waking up everyday to an award on your fridge saying "you're a star?"
