Helping Students Take Ownership of Their Education
Help me give my students the ability to have an organized classroom. The modular storage cabinet has enough drawers for each student to have their own personal storage space to be responsible over.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I'm really excited to use these storage bins in my classroom, because it allows students to have their own individual places to store their classroom supplies. This will teach them responsibility and personal ownership of their own items as well as their education.
Students who can take ownership of their education, overall perform better in school.
Having my students have their own areas of storage and supplies allows them to feel like they are in charge of their education.
Teaching my students independence and ownership of their education also involves them completing work independently. Being able to laminate their independent centers and activities, allows them to remain fun and engaging all year and not slowly be destroyed by repeated usage.
