Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my high school algebra classroom, student engagement and timely feedback are essential for learning. This project, Helping Students Engage and Succeed in Algebra, will provide tools that allow students to actively participate, stay focused, and build confidence in their math skills.

Individual whiteboards and markers will allow all students to show their thinking, practice problems in real time, and receive immediate feedback—making lessons more efficient and interactive.

Classroom organization materials will help keep supplies accessible and instruction running smoothly, maximizing learning time. Fidgets will support students who need help with focus and self-regulation, while small prizes for academic games will motivate participation and make algebra more enjoyable. Snacks and stickers will be used as prizes to motivate stickers. A podium will be used for flexible storage and to give students an option for a standing desk. The chair mat will help my student in a wheelchair navigate to his desk with easer over top of the extension cords needed for Chromebook charging, and the inflatable wobble cushion wiggle seats and under desk foam foot rest will be an option for my students who fidget to bounce their feet on under their desk.

Together, these supplies will create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to participate, take risks, and succeed in algebra.
