My students need undershirts, socks, hygiene products to help them feel clean and comfortable in class; and healthy snacks to help them stay focused in class and not on hunger.

My Students
My Class is a 12:1:1 classroom. We currently have 13 students, 1 paraprofessional and 1 classroom teacher. We represent Haiti, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Brazil. My Kids are a excited group with a range of disabilities. We have ADD, ADHD, Emotional Disability, English Language Learners, Speech and Language Impairments and those who have Learning Disability. In this classroom we don’t let these disabilities limit our level of Intelligence. This is a bridge class for 7th and 8th graders.
My class has faced so much personal adversities that should have discouraged them from having high expectations like, losing one or both parents, medical setbacks, violence, bullying but push through because they want to be change agents.
Some of my students will be first generation high school students in their family and others first generation high school graduates. This classroom allows the students to learn without restrictions and to see themselves in a positive light.
My Project
When a child has a feeling of being clean, it allows them to let go of some of the stress they might feel about their home lives, and be able to focus on other things going on in the classroom.
Your donations for these hygiene products such as deodorant, body wash, undershirts and healthy snacks will allow the kids to take some control of their lives that are very much out of control.
This project can only help the kids in positive ways and help them be able to take control of things to make them feel more positive about themselves.
