The town my school is in is a small, rural town in Nebraska. My students all have big dreams for themselves, but they also have a mentality that they don't get what kids in the big city have, because of where they live. That breaks my heart.
After watching our students at an area golf tournament, I noticed that other schools provided their golfers with bags, balls, tees, and push carts. Because it's not in our budget, all of our kids had to provide these items themselves. I began to wonder about the most expensive item - the push carts. Was there any advantage for the golfer to have one?
Turns out, it's been proven that golfers who use push carts score lower because they aren't dealing with the exhaustion, fatigue, and decompression that the kids carrying their clubs have.
Especially for high school players, their body weight isn't generally enough to carry clubs for a full eighteen holes. But, if a few people donate to this project, our kids will soon have every advantage that the students from larger schools enjoy too! Thank you for considering donating to our student golfers.
