Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a special education teacher in a high-need area of New York City. This is my ninth year teaching in a newly formed elementary school that focuses on creating leaders in the community. I have 12 students in a self-contained classroom.
Most of my students receive free lunch.
My special education and ESL students need these supplies and resources to prepare them for learning in the classroom. My students want to succeed, but they require more resources and materials in order to be successful.
My Project
My students need resources and materials in order to be successful! They need folders to house their amazing work and laminating pouches to create reading and math centers. These materials will be a vital part of my students' success! The scissors I am requesting are desperately needed for many projects in every subject area. The scissors that I currently have are old or broken.
My students with disabilities also need specialized paper in order to practice their handwriting skills.
My kindergarteners try so hard to improve their writing, and this paper would serve as a support for them. The leveled books will be an important part of my classroom library! Thank you so much for your consideration and generosity!
