My students live in an inner city neighborhood, and not every child has proper access to technology needed to learn online. My district is implementing a hybrid model with some kids trying to work online and some working with paper packets picked up from our school. It has made for a really disjointed learning environment.
Resources in my students' homes are very limited, and I would love to deliver them care packages with materials to help them learn and play.
I have had students say they have one pencil with no eraser. Or they broke the tip and can't sharpen it. It breaks my heart, and I really want to help them.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting are the basic necessities that any child needs to continue to learn and play at home during this strange time. My students are amazing, kind and smart and they deserve to have all of it. Some are living in homes where putting food on the table is their number one priority right now. Help me to bring a little love their way.
This project will allow my students to have the same materials that they would if we were still in our classroom learning together.
I want to help them feel a little sense of normalcy and have the materials necessary to complete their school work at home. Thank you so much for helping!
