My Students

I often find myself smiling from ear to ear when I think about my classroom and the group of kids I share it with. We focus a lot on growth mindset in our classroom. I often find myself telling my kids "You can do hard things!" to remind them just how amazing they are. My kids deserve to have the latest and greatest tools to help them gain new skill sets, organize their materials, and find passion in the learning process. Working in an urban district we are not always able to get what our children deserve. It is my job as their teacher to make sure their learning environment is inviting, safe, and fun for them! Thank you for being a part of our classroom home, and for helping me fund our students' dreams. Your donations will go towards materials and classroom organization to help my students feel proud and important in the learning process.

My Project

What I love most about teaching is who I share my time with. My students and my colleagues are always inspiring me to try new things and use new materials when teaching small groups during our foundations time. I've seen other teachers and interventionists in my school using these magnetic letters and numbers on cookie sheets with students. At this point in the year, students in my Kindergarten classroom are working on listening to sounds in words and matching those with letters. We are also working on our tricky teen numbers. During small group time, these letters and numbers will be used to help students put letters together to create words and put numbers in order.
