We are energetic, courageous, bold and proud -4th and 5th graders! We love to learn and have fun, even though at times our disabilities can cause us many frustrations and make us work much harder than our peers.
My classroom is designed for lower level students with a wide range of exceptionalities.
We need frequent redirection, praise and encouragement to keep us motivated to reach our daily, weekly and monthly goals. We work on a multitude of daily tasks including social skills, math, reading and writing.
My Project
My students will place; water, toothbrushes, toothpaste, gum, oatmeal, granola bars, band-aids, cookies, tissues, vitamins, deodorant, soap, sunscreen, chapstick, disinfecting wipes, lotion, and socks in seperate 2-gallon sized zip locked bags to create to give to individuals in our local homeless shelter. The items in these blessing bags will provide essential daily hygiene items to those in need, as well as, provide food and warm socks to keep their feet warm during these times of transition.
These blessing bags are for our local homeless individuals in order to assist them during thier time of transition.
The homeless bags on the go or care packages will reach individual basic needs that people have and are important to maintain before finding a permanent living residence.
My students love helping individuals in need, and some of my students know homeless victims personally. This project will help those in our community and will enrich learning activities my students participate in along with building a new creative community service project that I encourage and teach yearly!
