They have told me how much they like the rug.\r\n\r\nMy students were very excited when we unboxed the rug and the first time they sat and layed down on it. This Donors Choose grant has put carefully selected, age-appropriate books into the hands of my students who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to build a home library or see themselves reflected in the pages of a story. For many, these books are their first steps toward literacy, curiosity, and a lifelong love of reading.\r\n\r\nThe impact goes beyond the page. By providing books and novels that feature diverse characters, empowering messages, and engaging storytelling, we're helping children see what's possible — in themselves and in the world around them. The new books and classroom novels are a motivation for reading! Each book is a seed planted, nurturing not just academic growth, but hope, identity, and the belief that their story matters too.","fullyFundedDate":1744236385676,"projectUrl":"project/pages-of-possibility-unlocking-potentia/9244313/","projectTitle":"Pages of Possibility: Unlocking Potential with Children's Books","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Proctor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3865870_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y80&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727744975441","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ashley-proctor"},{"teacherId":3865870,"projectId":9023631,"letterContent":"Get ready to stomp, roar, and explore — because our classroom is about to go prehistoric! \r\n\r\nOn Monday, September 22nd, our classroom will be transformed into a Dinosaur Discovery Zone for the entire week as we kick off an exciting Dinosaur Classroom Transformation! They were so excited when the clay arrived. Thank you so much for your generous contribution to their education.\r\n\r\n The students used the clay to sculpt animals of their choice. After the clay dried, they started painting them. They used watercolor paint and enjoyed how the sculptures looked when finished. They then built their animal sculpture the appropriate habitat from shoe boxes and construction paper. Then they displayed their sculpture in the corresponding habitat for all to see. This project gave my students the opportunity to learn about animals and their habitats in a fun and creative way.\r\n\r\nThis was a very satisfying and favorite project of the students.
