Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a school that is part of a small district that has very strong ties to the community and the rich culture surrounding it. We have a diverse group of students who are very engaged in their school and community. Because of this, I love every day greeting them and they are so happy to say good morning or good afternoon and tell you about something they did with their family or as part of their community.

A great bunch of students who are fun, engaging, and love to learn new things.

Most of our students also take part in our bilingual programs. They love learning about new things and become so engaged with projects and ideas.

My Project

We are a full Title I school where many of our students aren't always able to get to a library to check out books to read at home. We have a great library full of books at our school, but we are still limited in variety and language. Most times these are the only books our students have access to.

The Kindle e-readers will give students easier access to reading, letting them have access to public library (with more choices) and school library, whether their parents can get them there or not.

These devices will provide students with the chance to read more at home and at school with a much wider variety than we can provide within our library walls.
